Sometimes resumes don’t land in your ATS the “normal” way—like when someone goes old-school and drops by with a paper copy, or you’ve been hoarding resumes in your inbox for a while. No judgment! Whatever the reason, we make it easy to get those applicants into your job posting.
Note: Depending on your account configurations, these feature may not be available to your user role.
Option 1: Use the Resume Import Tool (For Bulk Uploads)
Got a folder full of resumes? The Resume Import Tool lets you drag and drop them right into the job posting.
Please see this support article for full instructions: Resume Import Tool
File requirements:
Resumes must be standard document types like PDF or DOC.
Scanned resumes? Be sure to run them through OCR (optical character recognition) software first so our system can read them. Most modern scanners have this feature built-in.
Watch out for tricky formatting—fancy headers, columns, or unusual fonts can confuse our parser.
Every resume must include:
First and last name
Email address
Option 2: Manually Add an Applicant
Don't have a resume and just need to add a single applicant's basic info? You can manually enter their basic information into the job. Please see Add an Applicant for full instructions.
Option 3: Additional Bulk Import Options
If you're migrating from another ATS or have a large volume of applicants to add to the system, we offer a one-time free data import service to all paying customers. For that option, please take a close look at: Applicant Data Import
A Few Extra Tips to Keep Things Running Smoothly:
Double-check that resumes include an email address and full name—our system needs that info to add them correctly.
If you're unsure whether a resume has been scanned properly, try opening it in a PDF reader and selecting the text. If you can’t highlight text, it probably needs OCR.
